This Is The Place Monument (1944-1947)

Dedicated on July 24th, 1947, the "This is the Place” monument in Salt Lake City, Utah derives its name from the words Brigham Young said on entering Emigration Canyon, near Salt Lake City. Mahonri Young, the grandson of Brigham Young, with the help of his sole assistant, Spero Anargyros, did all of the work on the sculptures in their Weir Farm studio.
